Is the problem advertising or the sales process?

Follow the journey from click to customer before changing the budget.

Separate the stages

Record relevant visits, enquiries, qualified enquiries, conversations, proposals and won customers separately. Use a consistent period and allow for sales that close later. Mark missing information as unknown rather than treating missing measurement as evidence that a campaign failed.

Check the promise and the enquiry

Read the advertisement alongside its landing page. Do they describe the same offer for the same customer? Cheap enquiries can still be unsuitable if the promise attracts a different need or budget. Review actual enquiries, not just the platform's reported average cost.

Follow up after the form

For a sample of enquiries, identify who responded, when, what was discussed and why the conversation stopped. Separate unsuitable enquiries from good ones that never received a reply or a clear proposal. Marketing and sales need a shared definition of a qualified lead.

Choose a bounded test

If the mismatch appears before contact, test the audience, message or page. If it appears after contact, inspect ownership and follow-up. Define the changes and observation period, then follow enquiries to an outcome. Clicks alone are not a basis for promising sales.
